Provence Promotion is the Bouches-du-Rhône economic development agency. It supports industrial and innovative companies in their projects to establish, grow, and transform in Provence. Its role is to facilitate the arrival and development of strategic projects by promoting Provence’s economic, industrial, and human assets, while addressing current challenges such as reindustrialization, technological sovereignty, and sustainable transition.

AKTANTIS
AKTANTIS is a competitive cluster dedicated to deeptech technologies. Created in 2005 in the South of France—Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region—it brings together an ecosystem of over 300 industrial players, including large groups, SMEs, startups, research laboratories, and universities. Together, they develop and market innovative products and services to generate growth and jobs in dynamic markets.

Provence benefits from a recognized industrial ecosystem, particularly in microelectronics, advanced technologies, and industrial innovation. The proximity of skill clusters, research centers, and training providers creates an environment conducive to the development of high value-added projects.
In this context, Provence Promotion and AKTANTIS play complementary roles: the former supports the establishment and development of industrial projects in the region, while the latter structures collaborative dynamics between companies to support the development of structuring projects and industrial competitiveness. EYCO, an example of a supported industrial set-up in Provence
EYCO’s move to Trets, in the Bouches-du-Rhône region, is part of this regional dynamic.
Provence Promotion helped EYCO to set up its business, particularly in the search for land, a decisive step in making the industrial project a reality. The local environment, marked by the presence of innovation players such as AKTANTIS, also offers an ideal setting for the development of technological projects.
Inaugurated in September 2024, the Trets 4.0 plant embodies this ambition today, with prospects for increased capacity and development in strategic fields such as identity and medical.
The Invest in Provence label, awarded to EYCO by Provence Promotion, salutes this project, which brings strategic industrial know-how to Provence. EYCO also won the Recruitment Prize at the Aktantis awards, in recognition of its contribution to the local economy.
